Well, it's almost 10:00, and it's nearing my bed time.
...or not.
Anyway, here's a few songs that are currently residing on my Calming/Sleeping. playlist. I listen to these songs whenever I wanna tone it down a bit, whether it's because I've had a long day or I just need to relax. Keep in mind, it's not my whole list, just a handful.
Falling Slowly - from the movie Once. I've never actually seen the movie Once, but when I heard this song, I loved it. The lyrics and music are beautifully done, and the singers' voices have a certain quality about them that completes the song perfectly.
Zelda's Lullaby (Orchestrated) - from the game Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Leave it to me to have video game songs included in this list. Well, this song it a lullaby, so it's fairly self-explanatory. Lovely.
Dearly Beloved - Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts). Both versions I've heard are absolutely amazing. The one version even has ocean waves in the background, and that sound is probably one of the most soothing sounds on Earth. They were both beautifully done; Yoko Shimomura is fantastic.
Knocking on Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan. While Bob Dylan's voice usually bothers me, this song is actually very relaxing.
Thunderstorm Dance - Nathan Phillips. Nate is actually a friend of my brother's. He's a really nice guy, and an amazingly talented guitarist. He's composed a number of acoustic songs, and they're all worth listening to. This particular song is great tune to relax to. Check out his website and give him a listen: www.nathanphillips.net.
Wonderwall - Oasis. We've all heard it at some point. I find it to be great for kicking back and just relaxing.
The Kill (Acoustic) - 30 Seconds to Mars. I was pleasantly surprised by this acoustic version. It actually got me looking into more acoustic music. I find this song really well played, and I like it as much, if not more, than the original.
How The Rain Falls - Jim Hart. Jim's my godfather. He's also a talented guitarist/songwriter. And no, I'm not just saying that.
Give some of these a listen sometime. In my humble opinion, they're worth listening to.

Bob Dylan for the big win, because he's just a classic. And I love 30 Seconds to Mars for many reasons besides the fact that Jared's pipes are incredible.
